The work you got into this for.

A small core and a hand-picked network of practitioners. We look for mindset as much as capability: people who wear more than one hat, muck in when the work needs it, and stay with a problem until it moves.

The work

Close to the consequences.

We work with government departments, combined authorities, universities, regulators and a handful of private companies, usually inside a client’s team. You will be trusted early, asked what you actually think, and close enough to delivery to find out whether it worked.

Some of it is uncomfortable. Public sector work is scrutinised, constrained, and slow in places that will frustrate you. Ideas get tested and some of them fail in front of the client. Better to say that now than at the second interview.

So we look for people who are systematic about problems, comfortable working before the answer is obvious, willing to say the unpopular thing in a room where it costs something, and ready to coach as they go, because the measure of a good engagement is what stays behind.

The honest bit

What we can and cannot offer.

Lighthouse was founded in 2024, which shapes what we can promise.

We will be straight about the rate or the salary in the first conversation, and we will not always match what a large consultancy can pay. What we can offer is senior work immediately, a say in how the work is shaped, and clients who are trying to change something that matters.

We are remote-first, with travel to client sites when the work needs it. Work through the network can be intermittent, and we will tell you what the shape of an engagement looks like before you commit to it.

Get in touch

Tell us about you.

We bring people in when the work is there, so the people we already know are the people we call first. Two minutes now is worth more than a CV sent the week we go looking.

No cover letter, no competency answers. If you are not certain you fit, that is a reasonable thing to say on the form.
